A microwave power meter is an instrument that measures the electrical power that occur at microwave frequencies.
Generally, a microwave power meter consists of a measuring head containing the real power sensor element connected via a cable to the meter, which reports the power reading. The head may also be referred to as a power sensor or assembly. Different power sensors can be used for different frequencies or power levels. Historically, sensor operating means more power tube combinations is that the sensor could convert microwave power into an analog voltage which then reads the meter and converted in a power reading. Several sensor heads can contain modern electronics to create a digital output and can be connected via USB to a PC that acts as the power meter.
