will the nintendo wii interfere with heart defibulator?

my girlfriends mom wants to get the nintendo wii but she has a heart defibulator and is worried the fequency of the wireless wii controler will interfere with her heart defibulator

I don’t know enough about medical devices to say for sure. But the wireless communications the Wii uses are standard Bluetooth (for communications betweent he Wiimote and Wii) and standard 802.11b wireless ethernet (for online features).

802.11b is a slightly old standard anymore, but is pretty common for home wireless networks and wireless hotspots, like a lot of coffee shops and some resaurants have.

Bluetooth is used for secure very short-range communications where there is reason to want to require minimal battery needs on one end. Most commonly, this is used for wireless headsets for cell phones.

Unless she was warned about either of these, she should be fine. But of course, a call to her doctor with this information would be wise, just to make sure.
