Where can i find a good fitness / heart monitor?

I have been looking into heart rate monitors. I would like something which tracks my heart rate though out the day, and I am then able to upload to my PC.

I have the mii band, I subscribed to Tesco Diets, that means I had to pay a monthly fee for the diets plus extra to use the mii band.
You put it on your wrist or ankle and it records activity during the day, It shows walking as “moderate” exercise, and running as “strenuous”. I don’t know what swimming would be classed as, but running up and down the stairs for half an hour came up as hardly anything on the graph!
It doesn’t record your heart rate. Merely movement, it calculates accelleration, so it works out from your whole body moving forward as to how hard the exercise is. If you just waved your arms around it wouldn’t record that as exercise. If you cycle you should put it on your ankle. I was quite impressed with it, it certainly gave me motivation to exercise, as each night when I uploaded the results, it showed how many hours of walking, running etc I had done, but I didn’t want to keep on paying the monthly charge for the diet as well as the Active charge, as I had achieved my ideal weight, but was unable to continue my subscription with Active only. So now I have the band, and all the connectors and wi fi dongle, but am unable to use it any more.
I would advise, that if you definitely want to use it for the forseeable future, it would be worth paying the monthly charge. The “coach” at Tesco diets didn’t do much at all – just the same stuff like, “keep on, good work etc”
As an activity monitor I would definitely recommend it, but as part of a package, no. I would go for a Garmin 305 or the new model which I think is waterproof. It costs more, but it does more. It monitors heart rate, mileage, speed, etc, and you can set a “virtual partner” so you have “someone” to race against. It does lots more, look at the Garmin site. You then upload your training to a website called Garmin Connect, and this is free, loads of info, graphs etc, and loads of users to connect with.
